This, my Tangentals, is how you flagrantly do "tell, don't show". But aside from a call back page or two, the "Ex Nihilo Nihil Fit" is at an end. Thanks for toughing it out; this arc was a long time coming but unfortunately needed a lot of pages.
Come back Monday for some non-Stabilizery shenanigans and have a great weekend!
I'm usually against long exposition when it comes to fiction, but I understand that you felt the need to clarify some things to those who wouldn't have grasped the complexity of the scenario (which is a totally understandable concern that we've all experienced), so I'm entirely unfazed by it. And besides, this is Tangentville, so we're just here to have fun and not think about things too much, amirite?
By the way, this whole thing makes sense to me now, and I see why X-Nihilo was doing what he was doing. Apparently he's a more...sympathetic villain of sorts. He lost his home reality, and that will really drive you to do some incredibly fucked up shit as retribution to the entropic chaos of the multiverse.
But a lesson that X-Nihilo didn't learn was that you should not fuck with the natural order of things. The Multiverse is gonna do whatever the entropic hell it's gonna do, and tampering with that is inevitably gonna disturb things to a point where anomalies might crop up that will only expand the Brobdingangian realm of reality-destroying possibilities...or lead to you getting your ass handed to you by Stabilizers.
Stabilizers are smart because they know not to fuck with the natural order of the multiverse. Realities with endless possibilities will keep getting created, because quantum decoherence and the Schrödinger equation said so. So it's best to maintain the natural order rather than fuck it up to attain some sort of delusional fantasy that the immutable laws of reality dictate cannot and will not occur.
.....God that was a long-ass comment. If you stayed long enough to read it, then props to ya.
There were other pages I wanted to do, but honestly they weren't coming out right. At one point, the shadow was supposed to fall and X-Nihilo's damaged Stabilizer uniform was supposed to be visible. His name would have been revealed as "Alpha". However, I just couldn't get the writing & art to line up.
I don't know about the rest of you Tangentials, but I sure needed that last comic to make sense of the whole arc. What happened to Solomon Keyes and his girlfriend? (can't spell her name)
All's well that ends well. Despite there being some spot that didn't make sense originally, those spots were cleared up by following pages. Great job on the arc.
And Diego don't worry about it making sense. Just be glad things worked out right in the end.
So that's what you meant when you said "remember this" to my "whence they came" barb.
Doesn't make me sympathetic to the jerk, though. They immediately jumped to the "I will decide the outcome of this tragic natural phenomenon or else subject EVERYTHING to it" ultimatum to deal with their trauma.
